So um, has anyone had this happen?

I have an mx500 mouse and its a little over 3 years old now. Recently its just started to disconnect, then reconnect spontaneously. I hear the good ole - usb out sound, pause, usb in sound.

Is it time to retire the old bastige or could my usb port be borked?

Try uninstalling it from the device manager, reboot then see what happens. If that doesn't work then try installing the drivers off their website. Did you install the drivers that it came with?? If you did uninstall them, then uninstall from device manager and reboot.

See the weird thing is that my gaming machine rarely sees any type of change.. I don't know if I installed the drivers that came with it. I do know its almost time for a new mouse, the feet are pretty worn on the one I have. I was thinking of also trying another USB port to see if that helps. Its not happening to my USB keyboard so I don't believe its USB ports. I did also try pulling the plug and putting it back it, but it still happened after that.

Now that I think of it, I don't think I've rebooted in ages, might be time.

Edit: Yeah I have bad grammar.. sheesh.. sorry

my old mouse was doing it. i tried on two different machines, and it kept doing it. i declared it as KIA and bought a new one.

edit: it was 2 years old and never done that before.

I've never had this problem with it before and all of a sudden it starts doing it, no installs, no reboots, just out of the blue..

Yeah I'm thinking she's about done.. its been a hard 3 years on her but I guess it might be time to pick up a new one.. Can't say I'm overly dissapointed to be getting a new one.. :1:
