Harddrive: WD Cavier SE16 250gb 7200RPM 16mb cache SATA 3.0gb/s

Memory: Corsair Value select 1gb (2 x 512mb) they're DDR 400 (3200)

Looks like a good setup to me.

Only things I might upgrade would be to go for a dual core CPU.. or maybe some faster Ram sticks. I can't seem to find the timings for the RAM you have picked out. Like the Corsair XMS modules.

What you have picked out is fine, just suggested more what I'd be thinking if I was buying right now.

choose different RAM....that ram right there is horrible ram..its cheap and very crappy..but still stick to corsair...go with the xms series..

The value select is the SAME ram as the XMS without the heat spreader. Look for the value select with a 2.5 cas latency as they make the 1gb kit in both 2.5 and 3. I paid a whopping $2 extra for my second GB kit for the 2.5 sh*t.

From what I've heard the cas 3 Value Select memory is essentially XMS that didn't pass the higher quality testing although it should run at 2.5 all day. The dual channel kits go through a higher level of quality testing anyhoo...... The 2.5 latency sh*t is the SAME as xms don't let anyone tell you any different.

I have 4 512 sticks of it (2x 1gb dual channel kits) and can tell you it overclocks like a sonuva b*tch. My 2ghz a64 runs at 2.4 all day with no problems ever on stock voltage and air.

Oh yeah thats a nice rig and stick with socket 939. Anything else is crap unless you wanna spend more on 940....

Thx, you guys know any 939 processors, that are dual-core, but not too much more expensive, I'm saying under $200. I mean I have to start saving next pay check, and I'll prolly have it in 4-8 weeks; if I don't get a second job.

yup

i dont think you will find a cheaper dual core, gl not quite the price range you wanted. also some games that are comeing out need 2 gigs of ram, think about that

Hmmm, 800mhz if overclocked, wouldn't that void the warranty though? and I never learned to overclock a processor, only told how, but never attempted.

How much are you willing to spend on a processor??

Buy the fastest one thats in your budget and a good MOBO. ...... some decent ram and you can easily OC a few 100MHZ.

No Need to go out of control if you are a novice, but an extra 200MHZ or more is easily achievable.

Buy the sh*t, put it together and some folks here will help you get the most from it......

Hahahahaha. I find that hilarious for some reason.

IN all seriousness, Socket 2X4 IS unstoppable when it comes to gaming and graphics intensive applications.

If you don't want to spend any more money on it, that computer is fine. Have fun with it, whatever you decide on.
