While im in the process of building my computer, i wanna check out the internet connections out there.
As of now, I'm signed up with Comcast. My connection sucks - short and simple
Part of the reason may be my phone line, which goes through the internet; however, i do not believe it takes up that much bandwith, or what it does!?
A friend of mine told me about Verizon. Says it is really fast - i havent checked it out yet myself (i will once im done typing this up, so ill update on what i find), so i was just wondering if anyone has any info on any good deals right now. He says he has 5mb...and soon youll be able to get 15mb - sounds f*cking good to me
Suggestions?

I'd MUCH rather have a 5 Mbit connection with great ping times than a 10mbit connection with sh*tty latency. If you play games latency is much more important as you use >1% of your bandwitdh to play games.
I work for Time Warner and for the most part their networks are pretty much top notch. I base this on our recent buyout of Adelphia. Their network blows ass as I'm sure some other cable companies do too. We have are going to spend millions of milloins of dollars upgrading former Apelphia customers to get them up to speed.
Hit me up and I'll show you a few things about testing your current connection. If it sucks and your current provider won't work with you to fix it: get another provider.

Cable generally has better latency (ping times) than DSL. However, if you are really close to one of the phone providers hubs you should be pretty good (big cities). IMO latency is more important than bandwidth.

Ill keep looking around. Would websites have all this info? I was trying to find sh*t on Verizon website, but couldnt really get anything out of it.
