Wrong core, Clawhammer dude. (Much better and faster than the NewCastle)

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Clawhammer...faster...better?? That's a funny one... 3400+'s Clawhammer is faster than Newcastle...on 1 cache hungry game....Doom 3 loves extra cache, but on pretty much every other game, faster raw clock, speed wins.

The extra 500kb of cache is about equal to 200MHz. And overclocking 100MHz isn't much. 3400+ on a decent mobo should go quite a bit higher than that. My old 3200+ CH was at 350MHz (couldn't go higher because it was a mobile processor with a voltage limiter) and my current 3400+ NC is OC'd 300

Still...if you wanna get a nice proc, wait for the new s754 Turion's (coming this April, replacing the Athlon 64 series in notebooks) Same technology as the Winchesters with double the cache (for your Doom engine games) and they run at rediculously low voltages and overclock (supposedly) 24% higher than the already amazing Winchesters.

More info on the Turion 64 Mobile Processor...

Possibly saying "goodbye" to Intel's slight domination of mobile computer CPU's??
