My old router was acting gay, and I had been scouting the d-link 4300.
All of the reviews for this this were awsome. They all said, "the performance is top notch, but you pay for it". Well, I paid for it, and damn is it good.
This mother f*cker can be customized down to the last inch of it's capability.... I've worked with 5 routers in the past few years, and this one encapsulates the features of all of them.... plus alot more.
Anything you want to configure is configurable. There is also this thing called "GamerFuel", which allows you to set a priority to a range of ports (like 27015, for example). Then those port ranges have priority over other ports on your network, like... uh.... your roommate on msn. So now no matter which computer is downloading / msn'ing, surfing, My CS:S runs without lag. In fact, my CS:S has at least 15ms less ping on boss servers than before... without a pile of network traffic.
Thanks D-Link. (btw, I paid $153 CDN for the wireless version).

I was fine with my old router.... until it started dropping packets.
Whilst shopping for a new router, I found that this one has the best features of a home router.
They weren't kidding. You can change any feature of the router on this bad boy. The gamerfuel option is slick, and no more dropped packets.
I run an ftp, web, and remote desktop server, and the router allows for static dhcp ip's.. which is awsome. This router
Not for amatuers, but this router definitely has the bells and whistles for power users. If you have a few computer on your lan, including a server, and play games, then this is definitely a great router for you.

Sounds nice. But at the same time, sounds like I'd be getting into something I have no clue in.
