I bought a 19" widescreen acer, with a native resolution of 1400 x 900 or something like that... which is great for gaming. It's not a "great" display, but it does the job just fine.
Now, my mom is a digital photographer. Her old monitor was a Lacie CRT (cost her like $600 about 3 years ago). Apparently it was one of the better monitors for digital photography (color matching, etc).
It died on her, asked me about cinema display's, because most serious digital photographers use macs, and even the pc users swear by the apple cinema displays. I stopped by a mac dealer on my way home, and they had a 23" cinema display / Sony SDM-P234 in dual configuration. The cinema display costs about 1100, the Sony is 650. I honestly couldn't tell the difference in detail between the two, at 1920 x 1200 resolution. The colors were different, but that's a settings thing. I ended up buying the sony for her. I got it home, and decided that I would "test" it before I took it over to her place.
I played a bit of counterstrike source, and... wow.
Some pictures of the monitor:
This shows the "menu" buttons, they only light up when you touch them:

Here is a screenshot of this post, just to show you what 1920 x 1200 resolution is like (imagine 2' of this lol).
The worst thing about this is that I have to give it away in 3 days... :-(
