I f*cking HATE FUCING nVIDIA

So being that the ethernet on my motherboard is integrated gigabit, I had to install the lovely nVidia nForce 4 chipset drivers.
So I click to install them and it says I can install not only the ethernet drivers, but the PCI/se detection management system and the IDE optimizers. I thought what the hell and installed them all.
So I reboot. Try to stick a CD in the drive. It doesn't work. I click My Computer and it's no longer listed as a DVD drive. So I go to control panel->System to try and get to the Device Manager. Then the hourglass pops up. And System never comes up. Same thing with Add Hardware, Add/Remove Programs, Network Connections, etc...all froze explorer.exe.
I repeat the "reboot-try to uninstall drivers" process about 15 more times. I then tried to open Windows System Restore. Didn't even show up.
Long story short, because of nVidia's retarded IDE drivers, I had to reformat. Again.
So here I am...all default settings...again. But still, this time I just installed the ethernet driver and the internet flies!

Didn't I tell you once to install SP2 FIRST THING? Hardly any Nvidia chipset drivers are compatible with SP1. This has nothing to do with Nvidias drivers as they tell you SP2 or later on the motherboards with their chipset.
lol, owned.

OK enough with my rant on you being noob. Dont install the IDE drivers or the NV firewall crap. The system and ethernet drivers are necessary.
EDIT: Yeah SP2 is necessary as well. It should be slipstreamed onto the disk already though? If not I should have sent you a disk along with my ethernet cable.

I usually install the video drivers after everything else. Once the network card is online, I download the latest drivers from nvidia's website, instead of using the ones that came on the CD.
Make sure you head over to windows update right after you install the other drivers.

SP2 is both a demon and an angel. Fixes lots of driver crap, but I remember it breaking everything when it first came out. Crashed every day. :D
