If you don't want to reload this site usually has pretty decent prices on ammo.

Firearms are always a good investment, unless anyones idea of a good pistol is Highpoint :?:

Currently I have an Arsenal AK with milled receiver, XD 9, 6 shot mossburg, and a .38 snubby. One good thing about the XD is the factory hicaps are cheap as hell.

BTW, love the AR's. Some of the best looking ones I've seen since my cousin sold his Wilson to buy my AUG.

I know a lot of gamers whose fascination with real firearms stemmed from the games they played. It's not that big of a stretch. The only thing I'd advise is that being a firearm owner is a responsibility. It's your responsibility to educate yourself on the proper use and storage of your firearm. Safe gun owners take enough flack as it is from interest groups, the media, and all levels of government. So make it a point to take a firearm safety class, or have an experienced shooter show you how to properly handle your firearm. Once you know how to operate your firearm safely, store it somewhere where no unauthorized users can get to it, whether it be your children or a home invader. After that, have fun!

One more thing before I step off my soapbox. The golden rule of firearms: it's always loaded. If your friend removes the magazine from his 1911, checks the chamber, varifies that it's empy, and hands the gun to you--it's loaded...until you check everything yourself. If you varify that the gun is unloaded and you close the slide and put the weapon on the table, as soon as you pick it back up--it's loaded. Check to make sure the magazine has been removed, lock the slide back, and check the chamber again. Ok I'm done. Happy shooting!

That's a very boring way to live. For a little excitement try "Drinking games and gun cleaning"

Anyway, all f*cking 1911's with the exception of sh*t brands like um ParaOrdinance, are single action. You have to cock the trigger before you accidently blow your brains out. We had a guy blow his brains out at a local gun range a few years back with a .50 DE. Hopefully he didn't have a chance to breed before then.

I heard that's not uncommon. Depressed individual enters gun range, rents gun, sneaks it into restroom, bang. :?:

HAHA nah this one was just plain ole stupidity. Limp armed singlehanded firing should not be utilized when firing a .50 handgun. Frist shot kicked the gun and his arm back, second shot blew his brains out.

Now I can't say for sure what the .50's kick like but I can shoot a .44 DE one handed without a problem. well, the only problem for me is trying to get my entire hand around that big bastard. but the gas operation on the DE's is pretty sweet recoil wise.

Oh, that wasn't directed at you Glacius. Judging by your amazing collection, I'd say you more than likely know plenty about gun safety.

I was at the range on sunday and one of the newer guys brought his xd .45, and holy shikake was that thing great, he said he only fired about 200 rounds with it so far, and let me squeeze off 100 rounds, and now I am torn between the xd .45 tactical or a .40cal barretta.and for the record I am still laid off, but I am paying for my classes/license fee with my tax refund.and then soon..hopfully by spring I will be firing my own pistol.

sorry didnt mean to hijack, but yes the xd is SEXY, and ofcourse I am jealous of you all.damn rednecks and your guns.....and I say that in the nicest way possible.

Although the Springfield XD is not the best .45ACP out there, it's one of the best values for your money. The XD .45ACP won Handgun of the Year from the NRA and the Shooting Industry for a reason. I think the XD is a great starter gun for those interested in getting a handgun, and it's a great gun for experienced shooters too.

Oh, and yeah, I'm definitely a gun nut :weee: <----That's generally the face I make when I see a gun.

At The Gates, if you are torn between them i think you should get the beretta 96 (.40 cal), because those models are no longer being manufactured. Cost beretta to much to make them so they stopped making the 02fs, M9, and 96 series. Right now they are pushing their new product called the 90-two which is a polymer 9mm. If you REALLY want the Beretta 96 i say get it. It will be harder to find one later on, where as the XD .45 will ALWAYS be around.

ok glacius I see your point, the barretta model 96 is exactly the pistol I want to get, I have found them for relativly cheap, brand new for 550 at a place literally right down the street from me, I might go put some of my tax check down on it so it can be held for me, and then maybe next year I will get me the xd .45.

thanks guys, I love your gun support, all of you guys kick ass.
