Ok so I got to bed a little earlier than usual last night. I put some torrents on download and put Dodgeball in the 360 at around 2:30. By 3AM I'm about to fall asleep and after I do, I wake up a little later around 4AM and I hear loud cracking outside. Dodgeball is almost over and the cracking continues at a variable rate of pitch and loudness until it peaks a minute later and it stops, along with the power to my house. I look at my PC and after a moment the mobo light shuts off and a few seconds later, everything comes back on and the cracking continues, follow by the power shutdown again. This happens two more times and then the power doesn't come back on. I look out the window and not only is the transformer f*cked, but the entire block is down. Every house, the school, everything is dark. Everything else is also covered with ice and I hear sirens in all directions.

Soz I woke up at around 8am and it was back on.

Anybody else ever had something like this happen near them?

The power goes off all the time here. But its sure as hell not because of ice storms lolz.

Lol, that's great. I can just imagine the conversations in the mayor's office. I bet he has a button on his desk to turn on and off power whenever he wants.

yeah the power where i live is pretty retarded it went off Saturday for no reason all nice and sunny and warm off goes the power

Chris, I got hit with that same f*cking storm over the weekend, it just kept moving to you, except when it hit me, it was a helluva lot bigger. Started Friday, (and the ice was so bad Friday night my PoS car was frozen to the ground) went all Friday night and Saturday, and didn't end til late Saturday night. Power went out for almost the entire city, some people still don't have it and it could be as long as March 14 before they do get it, and there are/were so many trees and power lines down. Be thankful you got hit with the remains of the storm, and not the majority of it. You lost your power for a few hours, mine was down for 18, several of my friends were without it for 50 hours, and I know of quite a few people who still don't have it. Again, be glad my friend. Most of the city is up and running again, but we're supposed to get hit with another, smaller ice storm tonight, so I guess I'll wait and see how that goes. GG Mother Nature, you filthy wh*re.
