Okay, I just installed Supreme Commander earlier tonight, and the game installed just fine. However, whenever I try to connect to GPGNet an error always occurs. Come to find out it never installed GPGNet like it was supposed to. So I uninstalled and reinstalled. Same thing. I went to the support forums for it, and it said GPGNet didnt install because I don't have Windows .NET Framework 2.0 (Which was suppose to install automatically when the game did, if I didn't have it). I clicked on the link it gave to M$'s website to download it, but whenever I try to install it, the following error occurs:

"Error 1402. Could not open key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ShellExtension\Approved."

Can anyone tell me how to fix this? It would be greatly appreciated. I was thinking maybe it thinks my version of XP isn't legit, but thats impossible because XP was all ready on the computer when I bought it, and it's not like I bought it off some random person, we got it from a store.

The error indicates that you do not have sufficient permissions to update the system registry. Even if you are logged in as a system administrator, you may encounter this error if the system has been upgraded from a previous version of Windows.

The action below requires updating the system registry. It is strongly recommended that you completely back-up your computer before taking this action.

Windows XP

1. Select "Start", "Run", and type "RegEdt32". Click OK.
2. Select HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
3. In the menu, select "Edit", "Permissions". A dialog will come up.
4. Check "Allow" for "Read" and for "Full Control", then click OK
5. Expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and repeat steps 3, 4 for the keys "Software" and "System"
6. Expand the "Software" key, and repeat steps 3, 4 for "Classes"
7. Expand the "Classes" key, and repeat steps 3, 4 for "Installer"
8. If you have made any changes in steps 1 through 7, skip to step 10. If you did not make any changes, continue with step 9.
9. Open the "Classes" key, and click on "Installer" . In the menu, click "Security", "Permissions." Click the button marked "Advanced." Check "Reset Permissions on all child objects.", then click OK
10. Close the registry editor
11. Reboot the computer

Could try that, but I'm not sure if it will work. Strange Error.
Do you have user accounts enabled?

Yeah, I've got user accounts enabled. And I tried what you said above, but no dice, it didn't fix the problem. Thanks for trying to help out though, I appreciate it.
