Over the period of a year, I have been randomly banned from the BoSS office server because wild accusations were berthed by below-average Source players (non-admins). In one instance, I was dominating starting from the pistol round and my team was heavily stacked so I was able to rush with impugnity and some inexperienced player began to claim that I hacked. I had a streak, killing 16 in a row before dying over 4 rounds (which is nowhere near miraculous). In another game, I was 2-9 and I still got banned because I flanked the T's and got a knife kill on an admin... I suppose he was simply angry about that!

Today, I was banned by either Wolfenstein or Boostfed after being called a "retard" and "idiot" and was told to "STFU" because I was trying to explain how I was able to anticipate the flank. They claimed that I had a "minimap hack" that allowed me to see enemy players on the minimap. I was perfectly civil, asking them for the forum address and what an "xfire screenshot" was (I suppose they were referring to a plain screenshot, which has absolutely nothing to do with Xfire). Thus, I have taken 3 screenshots and posted them:

I am fairly certain that neither of them has shadows on, nor do they play with headphones balanced enough to pickup footsteps above the general sound of chaos. I have played FPS games competitively for years, and was on the #1 team on OGL for Quake3 CTF back in '98-'99, beating out one of the first corporate-sponsored teams. My friends and I have also participated in the CZ OGL ladder but could not continue for RL issues.

When i was in the server I was told about the problem by Boostfed. i specced him for a little bit and it was blatantly obvious that you have a radar hack. You anticipate people around corners. You stop during a rush go ALL the way back and kill a guy that was hiding somewhere at one point. Also while you were fighting at garage windows the guy WALKED up the stairway didn't kill or was seen by anyone and when he was about to turn the corner you turn around and waited for his head and shot him as SOON as he peeked.

Please give me a break... Ok yea I can see I called you an idiot, Yea we were angry at you cause you wouldn't STFU, which i also said, because you spammed about 10 messages in a row and you were clogging up the message board. Not only did you listen to a guy in the server at the time I think his name was prevail, he told you to take X-FIRE screen shots, which by the way don't delete all the hack windows on your screen like normal "print screen button" screen shots, but they have a little x-fire symbol at the bottom and prove that you would have had hacks. Also your first screen shot that you did take is completely irrelevant because your in your spawn and no ts are near you anyway.

Back to the thing about the screen shots. While you were dead we told you about taking a screen shot and you clearly stated that you knew how to do so and kept telling us that the option was enabled. You took a screen shot while you were dead at one point which is also an irrelevant screen shot because when your dead you can see all the enemies ANYWAY. When you were alive we told you to take another screen shot where you proceeded to now tell us that you somehow no longer knew how.

Also almost the entire server was calling you a hacker, people on your OWN team were starting to complain. Also, at multiple points in many of your rounds you would be fighting from garage windows and when you moved into spawn all together you just happen to move away, all by yourself, IMMEDIATELY as a t was starting to peek in connector hall/long hall and you would cap him in the head. Or another part you were fighting in bathroom and you were fending off people coming from garage and every single time someone went into long hall you never failed to turn around at the PERFECT time to cap them in the back of the head as soon as they walked by.

Come on now, I'm sure if we asked every single person that was in that server at the time, every single one including, Boost, Khaos, Silent Bob TJ and me. I believe a few admins and Boostfed had also specced this guy previously a week ago or so because they began to think something fishy was going on.

This argument you have for saying you weren't hacking isn't even worth the argument itself. You have no proof you weren't hacking other then a spawn screen shot and me getting angry at you. Mind you i shouldn't have lashed out but still it doesn't prove anything. End of story...

Also another thing I noticed. Why, in the screen shots, is your radar of the older model? Didn't steam have an update that changed the radar size and the circles are also different colors and much larger. Meh just something I noticed. Also another thing but saying you were a #1 team in OGL on a completely other game over 7 years ago. Why did you even bother to use that as an argument lol. Oh and by the way yea I do use headphones, Yes I do have them balanced to hear the footsteps over the chaos(chaos to me is just moderate gunfire because you aren't exactly looking for a hiding person during a 20 person gun showdown), and NO what you were doing had nothing to do with sound and all to do with knowing where he was.

1st off... i am the admin who banned you.. and as wolf will say.. i NEVER at anytime said anything to you.. no retard or idiot was mentioned from my mouth.. i went spec for awhile and then told u nice walls..after EVERYONE in the server saw what i saw..

2nd.. your screen shots mean nothing considering the fact that theres no t's anywhere near u when you first start..if you notice all your boys standing next to you in a group. your just beginning a round.. the 3rd screen shot means nothing either. they rushed garage not office.. i was in spec at this time..u jumped up onto the ledge fired off a few rounds with a p90 then hopped down and click..you took the shot.

3rd you were specd by another admin as well who came to the same conclusion and i had. i just let you continue to make sure of what i saw.. i did record u.. tho i do admin it was after you went on your long list of kills round after round.. maybe it was because everyone was calling u a haxxor?

4th.. when u use a scout (and god i wish i would have cought u in demo) u followed ppl in long hall with your cross hiars aiming thru the wall.. while u were standing in t spawn.. i mean come on bro..if your going to hack plz try to hide it a little better.. let me guess you heard him through sound?? head height the entire time and u followed him step by step.

Well to start off with your screenshots mean absolutely nothing. I told you take an Xfire screenshot and then you said that you knew how to do it and you stated that you did take it. Five minutes later I ask you to take one when you're alive and suddenly... WHAT'S AN XFIRE SCREENSHOT!??!?! Memory blank??? Tripped and fell??? So yeah that's pretty blatent lol rofl lol...

The other blatent thing is that as soon as we started accusing, you started sucking ass... before you got 5-8 kills a round with a f*cking scout then after the accusations you're lucky if you got one.

Oh and in game proof... You were in the stairwells at the garage near the windows... a guy walk up the stairs... as soon as he peaks you do the craziest 180 spin ive ever seen and pop a cap in his face... Yeah ok and I repeat he did WALK up the stairs and not run.

So yeah obviously hax... BTW non-xfire screenshots mean nothing since most hacks possibly remove the hack elements from your screen. Xfire has no connection with the game that's why you were asked to take one of those but you failed since you were hacking...

My advice to you... drop the hacks... then for a change dont download your skills work them!

I'm not an admin, but since this post isn't even in the proper section, I'll comment anyway. From spec'ing him myself, the guy was hacking in my opinion. He was really jittery, had his crosshairs on each enemy before he had even rounded the corner, etc. It seemed obvious to me.

There is not a whole lot that I can add to Wolf's or Boost's post. They both stated what they said and that's how I remember that it went. I don't think those screenshots would show anything since they are within the first 30 seconds of the the round. Odds of a terrorist being there are low and I don't think we were rushing office anyway. If I remember right, terrorists were rushing garage and finding the ct's in the office area. I did catch of few things during play or dead speccing him that seemed very... unnatural. You turned yourself about to kill a terrorist that came out of long hall and then moved back and shot me. That wasn't THAT odd but it wasn't right either. You were running into office at the end of the round.. stopped and ran back to garage window and shot wolfenstein. I noticed that you mentioned something about headphones and shadows in your post. I don't recall hearing about that in-game though. It was more about your radar showing T's because your teammates saw them or just died there.
Lot of different stories.
I have to agree with the general consensus.

Edit: One thing I found interesting is the fact that you had issues here before with being banned. How were you unbanned from BoSS then yet you just created the forums account today. Cheating (or belief of) usually warrants a perma-ban. :-/

i was playing as john the baptist in this game at the time this happened so i'll say a few things if it still matters. i've played with this guy a lot and i've never suspected hacking...not to say i don't know for sure but there was nothing strange about his play...using radar and sound properly can go a long way. not to mention when you've played office a lot, you can predict the spots ppl will come from, where they camp, paths they take, etc. and its not always obvious to someone speccing u how u knew where the person was.

to wolfenstein, a lot of what you said about the screenshots doesn't make sense. it's not an older radar model because it looks exactly the same as my radar, and if you're implying he took the screenshots at some other time, you can tell by the chat on the screen that thats not the case.

i don't know wtf an xfire screenshot is either, but i don't see how a normal print screen would make a difference. he never reversed his position about taking screenshots - the only thing he said he didn't know how to do was take an xfire screenshot and ppl were b*tching at him about it. anyway a print screen just makes an exact copy of whats on your screen so how would it hide a minimap hack?

also, boost and wolf are claming everyone on the server at the time agreed he was hacking, which is not true...there were some people agreeing but most ppl weren't talking about it at all.

and boost i have to call you out again, you said you said nothing to him at any time, but you said at one point to him u were sure he was minimap hacking, which is how the whole conversation started. i was mostly just reading the conversation for my own amusement but since this happened i figured i'd tell what i witnessed, and it pisses me off when ppl get wrongly accused cause they do good.

ok.. its like this after speaking the the man.. gund i said nothing harmful to your character because at times ppl can be wrong.. i am one of those ppl.. but on the other hand.. the sh*t u were pulling off man i havent EVER seen... i play with ppl better then the both of us... compared to most in this community im not that great.. but everyone has streaks.. your knowledge of where ppl were still has me in question... im going to get the demo i have.. it was after ppl were calling hacks and your kdr began to fall..

the crazy sh*t that had me in question was exactly when u were fighting at the end of long hall near the bathrooms.. u killed 1 of 2 in long.. they were near the enterance of side hall... u killed 1 then went and ran to the t spawn door and shot an entirely different player in the head in connector.. but u had to wait for him. like u knew and preceved he was going to be there..then u went back and scouted the lat guy in long..

another time was when u killed me.. i was kneeled down walking all the way from office.. i had 3 or 4 teamates left.. u were fighing them and all of the sudden u came around the corner knowing i was there and shot me in the face... another admin was specing u at the time.. u ran some distance away from the fight u were in just to come back for me.. i hadnt fired a shot..i didnt run.. u were the last 1 left.. no other teamates saw me..how did u know to go out of your way..

I already posted about this in the admin forum so I will keep it short.

-He doesn't hack.
-Provide the demo (in the admin forum please)
-Don't announce "nice walls," most people in the server will just agree with you regardless of specing.
-Consider other admins input. (if you can get more then one do so)

-Members input should not be the deciding factor of the ban, that goes for in game players also. If you believe he hacking . . . take responsibility; make a demo (or admin), grab his steamID, and ban him.



This is just tricky because Mini is a dedicated member on the server and has been for a long time.

agreed cleric.. 2 admins did spec.. when he decides to speak (if he does) he will say the same..
he was spec'd for a min of 8 - 10 rounds i know it was more then this due to the other admin going spec to watch long before me. at no time was wolfs opinion or anyones opinion the deciding factor.. and i do agree with your point on this.

when ppl get pwned the hax pointer finger gets started and always has a snowballing affect. once 1 person calls some 1 a hack then 50 others will start.. after the other admin left other dedicated members (who have been here for sometime) spec'd and saw what i saw... theres no way in hell with sound that u can stand infront of the elevators just at the entrance of spawn and know the exact location of someones head in side hall just before back t spawn.. especialy when your in the middle of a 5-1 fight..

lycan.. u and i have had our issues..so i will say this. there were many opinions 2 admins plus members who saw the same thing.. yea he may not have hacked before.. sh*t he may not hack ever again considering this. but we all saw was definately and highly questionable.. i called him on it yes.. i wasnt mad.. sh*t i wasnt even a smart ass to him.. i said my piece. grabbed his steam and banned. i was patient. i sat back and just let it ride. as i should. admins are not better then any other BoSS member.. were here to ensure a smooth game and to keep things hack free so to speak. ive had my issues and walked a tight rope for sometime.. but i wasnt at anytime abusive to him.. nor am i to anyone.. do i not give cash on a constant basis??.. do u see me spawning any weapons?? in the future you should take a step back and not comment on everything u see.. even if u were there.. if it doesnt concern u personaly then plz save it. if it comes up that u are asked as a witness then say you .2 were still good. so let it go plz



so again my reasons

1) questionable location knowledge. always knew where everyone was. ALL THE TIME. waiting by stairs for a long period of time with a scout while a t walked ALL THE WAY FROM GARAGE. only to get to the top and get headshotted.. in no way could he see him comming. in no way could he hear him.. he was walking the entire time.. i dont remember him even running thru garage. so i ask again. how???

2) AS silent bob said... his screen wasnt exactly smooth.. rates were ok so ???

3) once he was called on it.. his game changed completely. went from a 5-6 to 1 to a 1 to 1

4) another admin who spec'd said the same thing to me before i even noticed him.. ive played with him and yes he is good. sh*t hes also a pretty nice guy..never had an issue with him.

gund u are unbanned & i spoke with shadow this morning. i have no personal issue with you. never had. i acted on what another admin,myself and alot of others saw.. if you are truly that good then my hats off to you. u should play as a t more..lol

ppl make mistakes. I have banned ppl before and totally admit being wrong on it. Boost is chill, admits to his wrongdoings like i and many have, and all is well

Well, I have never hacked and never will in any multiplayer game. Feel free to demo me as often as you like. Just make sure you capture the entire situation.

From reading the comments, I can tell that the situation is grossly inflated. The T team was terrible for a while (which is why I started using scout and 5-7) until some decent players had joined. I also never fell back to a 1-1 ratio... as you can see in the screenshots, I was 2:1 shortly before I was banned. I would have taken additional screenshots, but was banned... I found the Xfire screenshot feature (why they put it in Chat options still evades me), but I am not certain how that is golden proof; I would probably just get accused of tampering with it. Prevail seems to have had a communication problem with me; he seemed intent only on proving that I was a hacker because I did not know what an Xfire screenshot was, and would not explain where this option was.

Yes, I was banned form BoSS on a number of occasions over the years. These were apparently temporary bans. I also tend to take long breaks from CSS and play on other servers until I meet a somewhat mature crowd of gamers.

The instance that Boostfed mentioned about me backtracking was a pretty easy decision. I heard one running down long hall while I was by the file cabinets, so naturally I backtracked to intercept him. I intercepted around the long hall entrance and was fired upon by two terrorists. I killed one and then peeked back to kill the other. I have no idea why that action is even suspect to anyone. A number of times, I had the T's on radar because my teammates had died to them recently. Not sure why I have to explain this, but I enjoy playing on the server since HM has become a wasteland. Also, I apologize for failing to specify that it was Wolfenstein who proceeded to insult me rather than Boostfed -- I just referred to them in the same general clause.

I also don't use mouse smoothing -- the algorithm in CSS has been flawed (not sure if they fixed it) -- it's not arcball. For those of you who played the Quake series seriously, the 180-degree turn was quintessential for rocket jumps and 1v1 play. Same situation with the radar.

For those who don't know, OGL was the most prestigious league for FPS games 8 years ago -- CPL servers only started popping up around then. We got a lot of recognition from the gaming community, including id Software. If you would like to make CAL-I your standard of skill measurement, my clan soundly trounced a clan called Tombstone (Cal-I in CZ) about 3-4 years ago in a scrim on de_cbbl. I'm merely pointing out that I am a competitive gamer. See you online.
