So I have the computer network dude build me a couple of towers and snyc them with a server for my office. Stupid girls were complaining about having to use 1 computer to "walk out" 40 patients per day. Anyways, I had him build me one in my office that could view patient files, schedule, and most importantly, play my games when a loser misses an appointment.

2.4 intel
2 gigs of ram
don't know the mobo
gforce 7900gs......it was cheap

I load up several games. First was guild wars, but it said there was some error and my vid card was overheating, so it shuts down. Then I try the buggiest game of earth, BF2, and since it loads so slow, it also froze while loading. And this was the bad type of freezing we see with BF2 where you have to manually turn the damn thing off. Then I try old reliable, steam. Get it loaded and am about 1 minute into CS, the thing freezes with a recurring sound. The graphics looked fine, no crazy shit on the screen when a card is having trouble, it just froze and I had to ctl-alt-del. Tried company of heroes, and it also did a screen freeze when running the graphics test.

So.......is it overheating card, bad ram, or not enough power for the card. I updated the driver and this shit still happened. Any suggestions.?

Yes make sure the pci-express cable is connected to directly to the PSU and that the PSU can suit the card. (For that card you should have a good 500w PSU)

I was thinking not enough power, from what I've read on other forums concerning this card. Called the guy and he said the power was 350.

Well then that's definatly the problem.
What idiot uses a 350W on any high-end (ish) card.....
Just be glad it's not a G80 and you don't have to hear that dieing hamster sound.
I assume that 2.4ghz is a C2D?

it should be able to run on 400 but 350 is way to little. if your gona have to change the psu just go for 500.

I'm gonna have to agree with chris and haven, a 350w PSU is retarded on that computer.
