Currently I am looking in the 175-225$ price range and really want a 19". No wide screen. Another thing which may be silly is that I was them to have a thin border, I think it feels more professional. Currently I am looking at http://www.newegg.co...N82E16824009104 but does anyone else have any suggestions? No viewsonic plox.

Psh my old one isn't gonna go for free. Newegg shows it listed as 219$ so I atleast wanna get rid of it for about 100-150$.

I'm probably going to go with the LG or Acer, I just need to find measurements off their site since neither are height-adjustable.

Alright definitely going with the LG, much higher contrast ratio. I've no idea about the actual height though since the dimensions are only of the monitor and do not include the stand. The only thing that concerns me would be the response time, both are at 8ms. Should I try to find something with a faster response?

8ms is pretty high compared to a lot of other LCDs today. I'd go for one 5ms or below.

But hey, as long as you're in the single digits.

Quick and nooby question, I've lurked all around but can't find a straight answer: Is 1400:1 better than 700:1?

This is the BEST LCD you can buy right now in the 19" range.

http://www.newegg.co...N82E16824002122, I have one, I want another, Don't let the color specs fool you, this NEC has one of the best image clarity chips built in on it, the contrast and ratio's are crystal clear, you won't need anything brighter / darker.

And never ever ever go by manufacturer specs, they take the most unrealistic conditions and if they hit their mark under those extreme conditions, they put it on the box. Look up some reviews on whichever you pick.

All of the reviews im reading across the net are getting like 3-4 stars.

I know I said I didn't want Viewsonic but every review on most of these review sites are great.
