I just got some mail from Time Warner stating they now offer a "Turbo" package for Road Runner. It's claiming rates of up to 8mbits down and 512k up. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the "Turbo" package. It's only ten bucks a month, then again, that's practically enough for an alt in eve.

I AM road runner.

Ours here is 15/1mbit. My experience is that it is faster by x mbit than what you have now.

ehh im not a fan of TW(which I still have) for one reason....
they allow you a certain bandwith, however when you constantly use all of what they allow, they send notice to you saying that either you stop using it or they will suspend your service. So, to recap,"You can have this much...but if you use it we are taking it away." Ive recieved this notice once personally, and at my old apartment multiple times.

The fact is that you are doing domething ILLEGAL with your connection. Read your user agreement.

Download, yes, upload: not really.

ISPs could care less how much shit you download. When you download shit, you rely on the bandwidth from whatever server you are downloading your gay porn from.

If you pay for said gay porn and you upload it, you are, most likely, violating copyright laws.

Said ISP is essentially sending out a ton of illegal and copyrighted shit from all of the customers on their network = their backbone providers can shut THEM off if it gets real bad. That equals a TON of pissed off people and a shitload of people without Internet just because YOU had to satisfy your gay porn fetish and share it with your ass-pirating buddies.

That's why they tell you to knock it off.

What if you were a super seeder for a Linux distro? That is legal, and you're still uploading...

Just saying...

You'll still get messages telling you to cut it out. That is one of the only things I can think of that may actually be legit even though I'm sure the user aggrement states that they reserve the right to shut you off if need be.

Thats a good example because that wouldn't really be considered using it for commercial purposes either.

Too bad 999/1000 people upload tons of illegal shit. :weee:

I've personally never had a problem with RoadRunner. I really like it because it's a fuckton faster than the SBC DSL I had previously. I also like it because Time Warner gives you your connection then fucks off unless you need help. (That what they've done in my experience)

The last time I got a warning was when I downloaded like 400gb of stuff in one month to makeup for an HD crash... but aside from that, unless you upload a ton of shit, your fine.

Jack, just go for it, the faster you download the bigger your penis is anyway.

My cable company offers the same type of thing, an "Extreme" addon for $10 / month that jacks the upstream and downstream speeds, as well as the monthly quota on transfers. For $10 a month, I'd say do it.

I got it. I also got a gigabit router. I'm renting movies on an average of 950+ on the downside.
