Update November 7, 2007

**READ ME FIRST**

Ive seen this entry being posted around, but Id like to caution that "The Hard Fix" opens up your computer to attacks.

You can try "The Hard Fix" at your own risk. I have also contacted an AIM developer about this issue, for now I dont know what they will do (more likely just to prevent it from happening again but not really fix the issue) and Microsoft needs to patch this issue again for the new generation that has been receiving this problem. If you need further help, direct your questions to the links in "The Hard Fix" section. Also read the comments section for additional tips.

Over the weekend a multitude of Windows Vista Issues were reported. Since enough people have complained about it, its time to post. Theres two types of problems going on but most notably the Network Issues. Here are the symptoms:

1. Vista Displays a Red X saying that its not connected to a Network even though it is.

2. Connection may say "Connection status: unknown. Server execution failed."

3. WMI Problems or is Corrupted

4. Windows Media Player wont be able to play Mp3s

5. No sound can be heard from computer

6. Windows Security Center reports errors

7. Windows Security Center may not find your AntiVirus Program

8. No Network Activity is reported even though it exists

9. Windows Zero Configuration Problems

10. Steam Apps from Valve Software (i.e Half Life 2) will not download

11. Windows Media Player cannot access the file. The file might be in use, you might not have access to the computer where the file is stored, or your proxy settings might not be correct.

12. iTunes stops working.

13. I must say this list is freakin long

God damn that is some jewish shit. Fuck MS and FUCK AOL! Fuckin AIDS-ridden malware piece of shit... That's it, I'm switching to Trillian.
I had a fun time cleaning up all the shit that AIM 6.5 fucked up.

Fairly positive this is regarding the ISP and not the chat program... :tired:

No this is AIM 6.5. When installed on vista (on laptops only? I dunno) it attacks your security settings and opens a huge security hole, as well as corrupting a bunch of other stuff and messing with everything from sound drivers to network processes.

AIM = Malware
Vista = Slut that will spread its legs to any program willing to fuck it.

Well then, this just became a whole new level of hilarity.

where were you tards at years ago when everone started using trillian. I have been rocking that for years and i love it. I think shadow may still have it hosted for download, with the "purchased" cough cough pro edition. Shoot him a pm and have him give you the address to his linky

Yeah, I'm using Trillian now, finally.

Actually I did use it about 6 years ago when it was the hottest thing (I.E. when ppl were still using ICQ). But then I had to live without an internet connection for 3 years so I kinda forgot about it.

Those were the days when the only way to chat was through IRC or ICQ haha.
