Most ADSL services around the world are effectively limited to speeds between 1 to 20Mbps, but if Dr Papandriopoulos's technology is successfully commercialised that speed ceiling would be closer to 100Mbps.

Smart bastard created an algorithm that reduces the electromagnetic interference the signals hit when traveling over cables. Happy promises to those of us stuck with DSL!

You will still be limited to the capabilities of a shitty unsheilded copper wire network. IMO by the time companies usin POTS networks "optimise" their network, it will be obsolete.

Phone companies would be much better off spending the money to get their shit in gear and start runnin fiber all over the place.

do you have any idea how much it would cost "to get their shit in gear" plus the massive amounts of down time. I think it would be awesome but meh they would just fuck it up before it got any better. Especially for us rural people.
