I do better with it on, but I like it more off, so I go for style and leave it off usually.

the silencer takes away from the power of the M4, but increases accuracy short or long distances.

well unk u say that silencer is for accuracy at long range, but toomey says no silencer is good for range.....ur my boy unk i believe u lol

scilencer on is less pwer but more accurate.
that means use a scilencer for longer ranges

I like the silencer becuase it sounds cooler. I've always wondered how it affected performance but I was afraid to ask.

= More accuracy short or long distance. However, that of course is dependent on if the silencer was boared to match the barrel! If is were smooth, then accuracy and speed of the projectile would be lost. If the boar matched the barrel, then accuracy would be increased and speed(= power) wouldnt decline.
Just out of curiousity, has anyone contacted steam to find out for real, or is all of this just a bunch of people blowing smoke?

I fugure silencer=more accurate. I definatley use silencer when I'm one of the few left in a round. You can use a powerful rifle without giving your position away. remember all the time when you have been shot and cant find the bastard with the m4.
