Anyone that buys that card = fails at life.

It's just a shitty sound card with meh sound quality used to push their shitty headsets on you.

sound cards have been redundant upgrades for I'd say about 5 years now. Unless you need some crazy music/development setup, sound processing cake for the motherboard to handle. same with lan and other stuff, my desktop mobo even has wifi internalized.

Please, Format C: now.

Obviously you have not heard any newer games with a addin card such as an X-Fi. If you cannot hear the difference, you seriously need to have your hearing checked.

<- Paid $179 for an AuzenTech X-FI Prelude 7.1

I generally find on board sound is decent for most normal stuff, but if you game, its not great. The reason? other then obvious sound quality differences due to better components, is on board = EAX 2.0, X-Fi = EAX 5.0

This Razer card, if you read about it, is little more then on board with slightly better components and better drivers..

If you want the newer games to sound properly you need at least an Audigy/Audigy 2 these days IMO. X-Fi is a lot nicer though.

It's not to say that you can't live with onboard sound, it is still *decent*

I honestly have to say though I noticed a change in game speed when i upgraded to the audigy i have now. Dont know why but the game ran somewhat better, that was before I upgraded to my C2D and 8800 GTS though. As you buy higher end stuff I believe that the sound really doesnt matter a whole lot unless you are into the best gaming experiance possible. Audigy works great for me and nice and cheap.
