LOL!

How is the blu-ray better quality? It's not. I'm pretty sure that blu-ray movies are high-definition and high-definition movies you download are in high-definition...so how is blu-ray better? It doesn't matter what the source of the content is, it's the same resolution, so blu-ray doesn't magically make it better...and you said you're not a fanboy.

high def downloads (720p/1080p) are mp4 encoded. if you've ever seen a 720p download from xbox live and then looked at a bluray, they are not comparable. same thing with hi def tv broadcasts... even though they are in 1080i, watching planet earth from the box and on blu-ray is very noticably different (way worse on cable).

if you look at the hi def downloads on x box 360 or on the internet (torrents), they are like 5-10gb, blu-rays are 25-50 gb... and you can easily see the compression on the downloads.

Yes, you do, as GTA4 will be on 360, and there has been rumors of possible GT4 for 360. Plus, GT is meh, Forza forever.

GT can't be on the 360 lol isn't it a Sony brand? why the hell would they put it on the 360 :P It's why you'll also never see Twisted Metal and such for any other console. Don't forget, PS3 has MGS4 and eventually FFXIII, though who knows if it'll bring back that old FF flair, and tons of other games. (sorry if this is an old topic)

So i've been pretty bored lately with PC games and I've been beating my Wii games to death. So I'm looking to buy a new console. However I don't really know much about either or about their library of games. I've never played either so I need help.

ill trade you my 360 with halo 3, rainbow 6 vegas, and mass effect for your wii and some games until you wanna trade back!

haha :weee:

I'm a 360 fan, but thats mainly because I've always been antiplaystation. As has been noted before, the xbox has a better library. Whether this will remain the case is up to your opinion on the upcoming titles.

I do not have a high definition television, so it doesn't really matter which optical drive is in use and what format movie the console can play. Unless you have a sweet HD tv (or plan to get one in the future) don't worry endlessly about this selling point.

I play online somewhat frequently, for the most part xboxlive is quite impressive. Most of the retards are still playing Halo 2 and Halo 3 and lack the time or cognitive capacity to play other games. I frequently play Chromehounds and CoD4. GoW online is fun, but it doesn't have a whole lot of replay value (at least for me).

Regarding the rrod, it seems to be pretty hit or miss. I've never had the problem, although a friend of mine has. With the no questions asked warranties and the like, why not get a 360. If it dies, well, you don't have it for a little while and then you get a brand spankin new one. Talk about support. If you bother to mess around with customer service (don't) then you might have a headache. Just buy the instant replacement warranty and you're good to go.

the PS3 is a very impressive system, I have played them and have been impressed. However, lacking any previous playstation or playstation 2 games... the backward compatibility lacks use for me. Likewise, because I have not ever owned a playstastion - I have no allegiance to a particular game (MGS).

If you just plan to play for recreation... the basic ps3 or xbox will suffice. If you want to play online, I'd go with the 360. If you want to be able to play a giant library of games, get the 60-80 gig ps3. If you want to have a system that most of your friends will be familiar with, get the 360. It all comes down to what you plan to do with it, how much cash you have to drop, and whether you have an opinion on blueray vs hd.
