Strange, using the exact same parts, minus the sh*tty coolermaster aquagate CPU only liquid cooler (replaced with zalman that cools better) Total came to 1148.66

Not exactly the best deal. But if you want to pay 300$ premium for that computer go right ahead.

If they sell their PC's with that sh*t wiring job it definitely is not worth the extra money. Hell it even has a window on it so people can laugh at not only at you for buying your overpriced crapmobile, they can laugh at the ginormous glob of cables that obstructs any view into the case.

True, but if people weren't too lazy to build their own Dell would be bankrupt.

There is a major difference between gaming and business class PC's. If you do a parts list for a generic Dell, in most circumstances you will probably go over what Dell offers. This is because Dell gets volume license keys and large shipments of parts for lowered cost.

For the generic user I usually recommend buying a prebuild, easier, less hassle and in most circumstances get more bang for your buck than if you build your own.

For gaming use, it is almost 99.9% more cost effective to build your own. For that .1% that doesnt want to, you are better off bringing your money to a more reputable company like falcon northwest which actually makes the price premium worth it.

These small upstart companies hire minimum wage f*ckups to make the PC's for them and what you get is what you see in that picture. A horribly put together computer that looks like ass.

How is a $1500 computer a budget computer in the first place?

Something without a monitor that is budget would cost around $400-700

When they first started as a company they actually had pretty good build quality. I have seen what they have turned into. The machines are just thrown together, wires everywhere, nothing tied down, heard someone receive a machine that the harddrive wasnt even screwed down and it was flopping around inside the case during shipping.

Quality like that screams run away very far.

Thats what i was thinking when I worked on this friends laptop.. it seemed put together so cheaply. I just looked at my friend and told him how owned he was... As for my dell xps im very happy. It feels much better as far as the quality and the resolution and screen are awesome. If I had waited till now I could have got something newer from a different company but it rocks. And I will never buy any desktop from anyone.. i just build my own. Hp's are good laptops too, had one that ran forever.
