ok so see if u can figure out this problem....
i have the program Azureus for my BT's, however, no matter which program i use i run into the same problem. normally you click the link of a torrent and the firefox download screen come up and asks you what you want to do, save, open with bittorrent default or whatever. it doesnt show that option anymore. i cant even CHOOSE what program to use....its so weird
what ive been doingis manually downloading the torrent file and opening it in Azureus. btw i also had this problem when i had BT++

personaly i use abc bit torrent and i get no problem but if you always get this problem its from your windows regitry and you have to bind the file extention .torrent to the client you use for downloading...

Yeah sounds like the file extension bind isn't working. Using the registry is a bit awkward, you can also manage file types from Windows Explorer.. Open Menu Options->Folder Options, then to the File Types tab. Look for the Extension "Torrent" and add it if its not there. Otherwise something might be broke in Firefox although its working for me. I also use ABC for torrents though.

thats why Bittornado is still fairly good, it doesn't have as many issues I think.

I rarely use torrents, but when I do I use BitTornado. Idk, I've never had a problem with it.

If file extentions aren't co-operating you can probably download the torrent to your desktop and either do "open with..." or open Azureus and there should be an option called open torrent or the like.
