I'm neither an Nvidia nor an ATI fan. I like them both and have had both in the past. Each had served their purpose. Today, NDAs finally expired and The 7800 (G70) line of graphic cards from Nvidia have been launched and are for immediate sale which is quite shocking and good for the consumers. For a while, both ATI and Nvidia have been launching products without a good supply of cards on hand. Today, I check out all the online stores and am amazed to see the new 7800s available and for sale AND at the retail price. Normally prices are jacked up 50+ bucks because of demand. Just maybe both ATI and Nvidia are finally realizing that they need to get the supply out to the masses quickly.

but it does NOT outperform the new ATI, The new r520 Fudo Build r0x the f*ck out of it, it has about 3000 3dmark 05 points higher, 7800 scores near 7.5k, the Fudo scores 10k.

R520 is still under wraps and no sign of release as of yet. Nvidia right now is cherishing the moment until Fudo comes out. Of course when Fudo comes out, the 7800GTX Ultra comes out, lol. I do like this graphics battle.

nvidia cannot win, two r520's are so powerful in crossfire.... it's like, a 9800 versus a 5200.... all over again.... ATI has the best marketing tactic....

from INQ

DESPITE WHAT people were claiming, the G70 will score better than the 7800. The card never got the 7800 suffix based on its 3Dmark05 score and if it was number would end up significantly bigger. It's actually going to be quite better but still not as good as the "Fudo" R520.

We got some numbers from this card and it turns out that R520 scores more than 10000 in 3Dmark05. We still don't know its clock speeds but we know the score. For what we know Nvidia can not mach this with G70.

This is actually even better or equal to two 6800 Ultra cards in SLI which kinds of makes it looks ridiculously fast. Imagine R520 in Crossfire, what ATI "cool chap" described as "Coolest technology ever" could do? Just double the number please.

No question that R520, Fudo will be fast the only questions remains are when is it going to be out and when it will actually be available. We will hopefully found out more soon.

Check out [H]ard|OCP's preview (20 pages long, http://www.hardocp.c....html?art=Nzg0)

They're getting scores with one 7800 that's better than two 6800 Ultras. So I dunno, I'm still not convinced that the ATI chip will deliver. There's too much rumor-mill marketing and not enough concrete benchmarks or testing for the R520 to sell me. Although, right now, I need to just get ANY new card... Hopefully I'll be getting a new mobo/cpu this christmas thanks to Intel. Oh those accomodation benefits of working in retail...

I do not think that the Nvidia fanboys can woo me into their stupidity, Ive fell for nvidia in the past..... a geforce 4 from a tnt riva 2..... i dont think i really have had any of the problems that nvidia has now with my ATI, it runs flawless in every game except 2-3 unsupporting of ATI... but aside from that, I could care less if nvidia scored 10k higher then ati's best card, the reason for this is the fact that nvidia cannot run their drivers properly, have very f*cked colouring issues, and do not know how to support a game they help develop if you paid them, besides, ATI has a long good standing with stable drivers and good hardware support, So It wouldnt matter, im ATI 4 Life!
