How did all of the aliens die? Was it because off of thoughs nades when up in the crotch of one alien?

No.
Apprarantly it was something in the air molecules that killed them (sub-atomic organisms)
Backround plot wise, there is nothing really new, but it focusses more on one family this time, and you pretty much follow them through to the end.
Though i think it would be better if it was a bit more tragic, with more people actually trying to fight them, than just run away - since the normal aliens look like pussies it would've been nice to see people trying to hs them.
Cheesy ending, but a good watch.
