im definitely doing newegg next time. i mean the tax and shipping is going to be a b*tch. but all my stuff from tiger direct was 1800. now thats still half as cheap as any premade computer, but newegg probably would have been a good 300 bucks cheaper after tax and shipping. my hardrive was the biggest rip. 200 bucks for 20 gigs lol.

You no why newegg is so awesome. They have the cheapest shipping costs ever. I paid like $2 to have my new motherboard shipped to me and it got here in 2 days. Now that is f*cking awesome.

It would definately be faster. But with that video card you would be fine. Do what you want, its your new computer man. Go all out for christs sake.

A friend said that I will need Thermal Tape to do something or other. Did that come with any of my parts or will I need to order that separately?

btw sorry I brought this topic back up. I just didnt think I needed a whole new topic for just that question.

Is your friend referring to the material that is needed between the heatsink and the processor? AMD heatsinks that ship in the "Processor in a Box" (ie what you have, I think) come with a pre-stickied (love that not-so-existent word) thermal pad on the bottom.

Nah I havent started ordering the parts yet even :19: but Im still a bit scared about building it. I know how to do it basicly yet I feel like I still need supervision. My friend who I had in mind to build is going to be out of town by the time the parts get here. Im going out tommow to look around for a tiger direct or some other sh*t whole to build it for me. idk maybe Im just a pussy.

EDIT: Also I decided to upgrade tot this ram OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM Unbuffered DDR 400 (PC 3200) Dual Channel Platinum System Memory

incase you cant find a spot and still consider doing it yourself. http://forums.steamp...threadid=303048 has a really good in depth walkthru. itsl ong and a lot is repititve and written for 10 year olds, but it makes it sound easy to build one if you want to check it out.
