OK fellas: I have a relatively powerfull server thats collecting dust in a closet right now. I wish to take any ideas of something USEFULL that i can do with it. This cant be too bandwidth intensive as i need to play CSS and download sh*t (porn) every once in a while. Heres the specs:

ShloNkYs Relatively Powerful Server:

Tyan TIger s2460
Dual athlon MP 2000s (i think they are 2000s ??)
1.5GB Corsair ECC registered server memory
2x 15000 rpm 76 GB SCSI drives
Plenty of storage space if needed (500+ GB)


It would prolly make a really good game server but i cant really spare any upload speed as im only at 50KB. I do, however, have PLENTY of download speed @ 8Mb/s. Itll max out at 1133KB/sec. What would YOU do???


P.S Im NOT going to setup a dedicated porn server for BoSS members.......

edit ooooooooo how about a UT 2004 server. i know its a pain in the ass to admin but i would do it for free if you want ive done it before. yeah UT2004

Unless you have a connection ranging over 10 MB, its pointless.

I would put it in a datacenter, and setup remote desktop or somethin.

Yeah, especially with a 50kbps upload I don't think you could have any sort of game server...

i WAS goin to ebAY it, but shell only fetch about $400 if im lucky. For that ill keep it in the closet untill its worth $100..... HAHA IM goin to use it for a media server/remote desktop with my gaming rig as soon as i obtain another 22" monitor...
