i have a 19' crt. it gets 1600x1200. i always have my games on 1600x1200 with 75htz. all the sudden while im playing css, my screen minimises and the desktop is on 1024x768 with 30htz. so i go to settings and click to select the screen resolution it it says 2048x1536. and thers others all the way down to 1600x1200. also under advanced, rather than 75htz being the most, it now goes up to 120 htz. i tried 2048x1536 and everything was off the screen, off the wallpaper that is, the toolbar and menus were off the screen even tho the screen size fit in side the monitor. can anyone explain this change or why my monitor now does this? i remember i used to play doom3 on 2500 resolution, looked great. but only bc it was an option, never been an option higher than 1600 on any game or my desktop. not sure why it changed.

thanks,

ok ive been playing around with it. when i go to properties and then settings, under display i can choose 2 thingsL

1. plug and play monitor on radeon 9800xt
or
2. default monitor on radeon 9800xt secondary

if i chose 1, which it has always been on, i get 1600x1200 with 60-75 refresh. somehow while i was playing it must have switched bc when i put it on 2, i can go up to 2048x1536 with up to 200 refresh. if i do put the res that high, whether in a game or on my desktop, itll be zoomed in so much i cant see the start menu-and all icons or windows open that are near the edge are way off the screen. which display monitor should i use and why are there 2 if i only have 1 monitor? and why did it switch on me while i was playing css?

if anyone knowns...thanks
