Granted, I did almost the exact same upgrade, 800 xl to x850 xt pe.
However, I just bought the x800 xl and within a week there was a deal for the x850xt pe for about $25 more. So I took the old one back and got the new one. Not a lot of difference in the cards, imho though. Maybe in games that are graphics intensive, but definitely not in CS.

thats a nice card. but there is no way you will get 15% higher fps. you might get 10 more fps. the diff between a 800 xl & a 7800gt is 30 to 40 fps in source. you can use that for a refrence.Yeah I'm hopin for an increase in FPS on CSS of 15% or so. My x800 is runnin within an inch of its life right now and was thinking about upgrading the HSF anyways. (those fans are like $40) Id rather have a Zalman fan for it but that bigass one will do just fine.

15% or 10 more FPS. That would depend on how many I average now wouldnt it??

Save your money for later...this isn't going to be much of a jump...
Not much of a jump, but figured I might as well do it cuz I was planning on getting a better cooling system for my x800 anyways. Ima sell my x800 to my buddy too cuz he wants it which will save me the hassle of Ebaying it which is a bonus. BTW if anyone was looking at getting this its on monarch for $7 less. (I'm hopin the EGG will honor that deal as i already ordered it) $190 for this card is pretty good.
