Ok, here is my new setup.... enjoy. Feel free to comment.

Case: Aspire X-QPACK w/ 3 windows (top, and each side)
Posted Image

Video Card: Gigabyte X800 Passive (PCI-E)

Posted Image

Power Supply: Enermax 535W EG565P-VE All In One ATX 12V v2.0

Processor: AMD Athlon 64 3700+ w/ 1mb L2 Cache(S-939)

Memory: 2 x Kington 512 mb 3200 @ dual channel

Mobo: Gigabyte GA-K8N51GMF-9 (Small form factor w/ SATA II, GBIT LAN)

DVD-RW: Black Lite-ON 16x16 Dual Layer

Hard Drive: I have a gay 80GB IDE right now... sold my pair of 80GB SATA's with old computer. I am going to get a pair of Western Digital 320GB Caviar SE16 7200rpm SATA II w/ 16MB Cache and slap those f*ckers in a raid 0 array again. I know... raptors are faster... but they cost a lot more. These 2 drives will give me 600+ GB of raid 0 storage for exactly $300 CDN.

The small form factor case is tight, but it looks great. It's quiet, with 1 x 120 mm exhaust fan (+ 80mm and 90 mm fans in PS). It's also light... there is a handle on the front and it is very easy to move this puppy.

EDIT: So far, this thing has cost me around $1000 CDN... like $800 USD. After the HD upgrades, total cost is $1300 CDN.... 1050 USD?

See you clowns in the servers & ventrilo!

^^

It's made by Gibabyte, so it uses ATI's reference X800 design. I suppose an easy way to think of it is that Gigabyte uses ATI's design and chips... but builds it and sells it however they want. So far I've seen Gigabyte, Asus, and Sapphire build passively cooled GPU's. It does require a decent amount of airflow through the case, however. If there isn't a bit of a breeze going over the heatsinks... it cooks pretty hard. But any amount of airflow brings the temps down a bit.

That f*cking case is the sh*t. I was looking at some similar to it. They are just so much more quiet. I have a huge as case right now with six fans in it. Two of which are vantec tornadoes. But thats a pretty sweet setup.

Yeah I've actually done some research on that case before. It's definately a sweet looking case and everything is tightly closely knit as you know. Just one word of advice, dont be suprised if you psu blows with all that stuff running. I've read a BUNCH of reviews of where users love the case and psu just sucks ass. I personally would have gone with the antec aria but thats a solid computer overall man, enjoy that sh*t

Already remedied. I bought an enermax 535w. Like the salesman said, "if you upgrade your vid card, you will need a new PSU. Remember, all 420w ps's are not created equally."

I would pay 5$ to see that... (you can use that as fund money for the webcam to broadcast it)

Oh, not really sure how hot the heatsink gets..., but the heatpipes definitely would melt skin.

Guys have tested this card without the case covered... like with no air moving over the card. It got up well over 100 C.
