I just (literally) ordered my new computer. :20: :20: :1: :1: :1: :20: :9: :9:

Case

Motherboard

RAM

PSU (Not so great)

Raptor

Processor

CPU Fan

Video Card

Monitor (Updated)

And the guy at the comp store I was talking with gave me a free 120 MM Case Fan.

Adds up to $1500.16 :weee: :weee:

If anyone who is a good overclocker can kinda sorta plan to be on vent on monday (anytime during the day or night) to help me overclock my CPU a little would be great.

Very nice, can't wait to see ya back on CS.

Very good choice on the Mother Board. DFI makes some VERY nice Mother Boards.

Yea, that thing is tiny. I got one from best buy yesterday. 7900 rpm, 250 gig, 80 bucks. But I don't think it is the right type for my computer :wtf: .

Any way, I hope to make one like that sometime this summer.

The 10,000 RPM Drives do get bigger, I just ordered the smallest because Ive had a 30 gig harddrive for 4 years and ive never come close to filling it up.

Games and programs are getting bigger and bigger. You should use the raptor for your games and get a cheaper sata drive for programs and other sh*t. But yeah thats a pretty nice setup man. Be careful with that power supply though. Rosewill doesn't make the best power supplies. Might f*ck up and fry something.

Yes, I also <3 googlegear (RIP). Often zipzoomfly is cheaper, too, and they have pretty much everything you want unless it's rather abnormal (read: no-name)

I am a loyal newegg customer. Just because they have been so good to me. lol. I have ordered from zipzoomfly though. They are basically the same.

Edit: Btw haven, I just looked at the case again. Thats a pretty good case. Although you are probably going to have to take that air tunnel off of the case door to get that heatsink to fit. I myself and getting tired of the side windows too. My next case is gonna be pretty similar to that.

Edit 2: DFI motherboards are great for overclocking.

You should use the raptor for your games and get a cheaper sata drive for programs and other sh*t.

Im going to be doing the complete opposite: 36.6gb raptor for OS and programs, 500gb Barracuda for games, movies, music, pictures, and other sh*t.

I'd really like to get a raptor drive myself. Along with learning how to OC my processor. But I don't really know what temp it's running at, or really how to do it. I know you adjust voltage and that's about it.

I need to find a car soon... So I can get that cash sink out of the way. :33:

what's all this crap about a big 7200 for anything? just get more raptors! :D (I have just a rather small 7200 for everything, so clearly I'm qualified to talk (also it's P-ATA))

Raptors make me too nervous since they're western digital (aka Woefully Designed). Unfortunately the seagate + maxtor 10k drives seem to perform significantly worse...

Read the reviews. Seagate's 7200.10 line of hard drives use perpendicular recording. They are fast as f*ck (I have 2 in raid 0). They are actually faster at transfering than the raptors, but slower in seeking.

10k Raptors are nice for the OS & apps.... then get a big ass (or 2 or 3?) 7.2K drive for the storage...

I just thought of this. When you get that power supply in, do a weight test on it. Meaning pick it up and see how much it weighs. If its really light, send it back. If its pretty heavy, then you should be good.

Good parts, the PSU does suck ass though 30 amps on the +5V rail = crap. I would say fine if you paid like $30 for it, but for $89 you could get something better.

This is the one I have OCZ It is $10 LESS than the one you got and much better. A whopping 62A on the +5V rail for a 620watt PSU. Wattage doesn't mean sh*t, Amps do. plus its shiny gun metal and has detachable modular cables and dedicated Videocard powerconnector which is nice. If i were you, I'd return that on, save yourself $10 and have a MUCh better PSU.
