Adobe Premiere
If you get anything else you deserve to be shot. Do not get or use: IMoive, Dazzle, FinalCut Pro, or any of the others. I have tried quite a few and by far Adobe is the best at everything.
It just looks confusing as f*ck at first like Adobe Photoshop but it is the best.

yea i have premiere elements too but for me personally its a lil complicated, i prefer to just stick with Windows Movie Maker (yea i know alot of people bash on it but im not doing any type of professional video editing here, just movies with friends or family). WMM is extremely easy and free.
premiere is amazing but difficult and not for beginners.
i wish i could have iMovie, i use it in school a lot and i love it. its alot better that WMM and alot simpler than adobe.

yea well this is the process to get it at $2. first you stand in front of a shopping center. then you wait for somebody to ask you if you want any programs. then they go get it, this takes like 20 minutes...theyr probably burning it. then they give it to you and you walk of happily...

I like Ulead or AvidDV. I'm using both and I am deciding which one to uninstall. They are both really good.
I also have Adobe Premiere somewhere on a hard drive. Complicated.
Windows Movie Maker isn't powerful enough for me.

I know this is old, but no one has posted a new topic, so fck off.
Any way, my friend uses Adobe Premier and it is pretty badass. He has made a ton of videos, quite a few have won awards and what not.
