So I got Dead Rising yesterday on it's release, and let me tell you, the game is amazing! I've never had so much fun blowing away zombies, aside from Resident Evil 4. There are just so many weapons and ways to kill people, and a lot to do! It also has a surprisingly good storyline, which I wasn't expecting. The game is also a good challenge, and it will make you work to get from one save point to the next. A lot of reviews b*tch about the bad save system, where you can only save once you reach a bathroom or safehouse, but to me it's an extra challenge, and makes the survival part of the game all the more realistic. I can't just save behind a door, bust into the room, get owned and load it up right back where I was, I have to decide what I am going to do, what weapons I am going to pick up, and what food I am going to bring with me.

There are also a ton of side missions to do, and a lot of survivors to save. The survivors are a pain in the ass to save though, because you have to take them through some pretty dangerous areas (I won't spoil it by saying the biggest pain of all in rescuing them.)

The main storyline will take around 15-20 hours to complete, and then you can play a sort of free roam mode where there is no time limit, but your health slowly deteriorates over time instead. I am now almost done with the night of the first day in the mall, and I have all ready encountered a few really cool and challenging bosses, and have taken a few really awesome pictures, which is another great thing about the game. Leveling up by rescuing people, killing psychopaths, and taking pictures adds so much more to the game then just running from point A to point B, killing a few zombies on the way.

If you were even considering getting this game, you need to! If you are skeptical about the save system, then rent it first, but if you don't mind it, buy this game! There is only one problem with it that I have noticed, and its that some of the text appears very small, and slightly blurry on normal, non HDTV's. On normal TV's there is a little bit of the sides of the screens that is cut off, too, but don't let it stop you from enjoing this otherwise great game! Hopefully in the near future, Capcom will release a patch to correct that problem, but until then, we will have to deal with it. Unless you have an HDTV of course. In conclusion, Dead Rising roxxors my soxxors, and is a definite buy for any 360 owner. Get this game you guys!

I have been talking about this game for a long time now. Pretty much, the save system you just have to get around. How I've been doing it is I said f*ck the survivors. I have been concentrating on the main missions so I can get the "true" ending. After I unlock the other modes I might do some other side missions.

Edit: f*ck! I have to start over. I took too long at the damn supermarket beating that guy. Note. Get a cleaver or hunting knife. It is much easier stabbing him like that.

Yeah, I said f*ck the survivors, too! They are a pain in the ass and I want the true ending so I can play in Overtime and Infinite mode. Sorry about having to start over, that guy gave me some trouble too. I ran around the store, picked up 2 pieces of raw meat, and beat him with my sledgehammer after he would turn around, he would be vulnerable for 2-3 whacks and went down relatively easy, once I could get near him. That shotgun f'ing hurt, though! Then I hauled my ass to the medicine and all the way back to the security room, making it back with about 15 seconds to spare before I lost the case. I thought I was f*cked for sure, but I made it in the nick of time. On a side note, which psychopaths have you fought yet? I don't want to spoil anything, but the fight with Adam is awesome,(especially his death) and the one with Cliff is pretty good, too.

the "true ending" is just beating the game and overtime...thats it un less for beating the game means all cases and be at heliport at noon

anywho

I got this the 9th (stupid gamestop) it owns im lvl 23 and almost 24 yea screw survivors but they give you a lot of pp and make sure to take photos!!!!! ive gotton prorbably 100k pp from them...I just dont know where the machine gun and heavy machine gun is...I kno where the katana and uzi are but thats it, well I guess shot gun and sniper but thats at the hunting shack..so if anyone knows where the machine gun (m4?) and heavy machine gun (m60?) are that would be great...

ZOMBIES FTW

btw if you could save anytime it would be the lamest game ever...and Tyler for killing the shopping kart guy grab an uzi and katana, the best place to go once your fighting him is the checkout (cash registers) he'll try to ram you through them...making him stuck for you to blast him, if you run out of ammo sneak up on him and whack him with the katana...or throw a cash register at him hope this helped...well off to cut some zombies in half!!!

Yea, I have to restart. But luckily I'm at a higher level already...7 I think.

When I restart I am going to kick up everything a notch.

Before the mission, though, you have to run throught the park. Which is teh uber geh because of the damn convicts. What the f*ck am I supposed to do about that? That is one part that took a long time. Having to run through the zombies and dodging the car.

And I found towards the end of the fight that the cleaver works really well. You can get some quick hits in before he can recover and whip out the f*cking shotgun. And thank god for the raw meat there. Can I get an amen?

I got my game on the 9th, too. The 8th was the shipping date, I believe, not the release date. Employees can get in big trouble for selling a game before it's release date. You get the Heavy Machine Gun from killing the convicts in the jeep. I haven't done it myself yet, or even attempted it, but the best strategy seems to be getting a sniper and picking off the gunner. Then you can grab the gun and kill the other two convicts. I've also heard that if you blow up the jeep, the convicts won't respawn, but that means no more Heavy Machine Gun. I would wait until you kill the three snipers in the entrance plaza, then grab the sniper they drop(They are incredibly easy, just get a katana and a baseball bat and lead pipe or something, and chase them, they wont be able to shoot you), and kill the convicts. Otherwise you have to wait quite a while to get the scoop to kill Cletus in the gun store.

KATANA!!!! seriously, the katana owns...I killed 1st fight against carlito in like...5-10 hits

Same here, I will do anything to help anyone that I can. I'm not quite done with the game but I am getting there and know quite a lot about the game. John and I will be your go-to people for Dead Rising questions.

EDIT: Just beat 72 Hour Mode and got Ending A tonight. Working on Overtime Mode right now. If you guys have any questions about the game, ask away.

EDIT #2: Earlier tonight when I was playing in Overtime mode, the framerate dropped dramatically, and before that, near the end of 72 hour mode, the game stuttered about every 2 seconds for about 30 seconds, then started working fine again. It also seems whenever I do the swipe attack with the sledgehammer on a group of zombies, it will stutter for a second. Anyone else notice little chokes like this? I have heard of other people with the framerate drop, and I know it's not my 360. It's not a big deal at all to me, I was just wondering if anyone else had encountered something like that while playing this game.

I just beat the game about an hour ago, both 72 Hour Mode and Overtime Mode, so I can help you out with pretty much anything aside from some of the Psychopaths I didn't get to fight, and the survivors, because there were a lot of them I didn't even bother to rescue. I know where a lot of the weapons are, how to get certain clothing, the best way to get some of the achievements, etc.. so just let me know if you want some help or need questions answered.

EDIT: I beat both 72 Hour Mode and Overtime Mode again last night, escorted over 30 survivors, got to level 50, and only missed out on 2 psychopaths that I know of, so I'm pretty sure any question you guys might have I can answer, except for some of the survivors and the 2 psychopaths I didn't fight, Cletus and Kent. I also got the Spec Ops suit and boots, the Megaman suit and boots, the wrestling outfit, and the prisoner's garb. Next I am going to go for Zombie Genocider to get the Real Mega Buster. Please feel free to send me PM's or ask here for help with the game if you need it.
