For the few of us on BoSS that plan to get a Nintendo Wii when it comes out, I have some info you might like. Earlier this afternoon a conference was held that officially announced the Wii's launch information. I have listed it below:

Launch Date: Nov. 19, 2006

Price: $249.99 USD
Comes bundled with Wii Sports.

N64 games downloaded from the Virtual Console will cost $10 per game. SNES and NES are cheaper.
2,000 points can be bought for $20. These points are what is used to buy the VC games, similar to Microsoft Points.

The Wiimote itself will cost $39.99 USD, and the Nunchaku attachment will cost $19.99 USD. The Nunchaku is required for many games, so essentially a controller will cost $60.

The price of games varies, but most will be $49.99 USD.

It would have been cool as hell if they made complete remakes of N64 games. Goldeneye and Mario 64 especially.

Don't think I'll be getting this Wii thing anyway. I've only owned N64 and Sega Genesis anyway, never really been a console guy.

well i never owned a 64 just a nes and a snes...i still have a nes, super spike v'ball ftw! ill probably get it next year though.....but if i do get any console the wii is the best candidate(or a free ps3)

IMO, you should get a Wii just for LOZ: TP if nothing else. The game looks PIMP. Horseback sword combat FTW, and the rest of the game ain't bad-looking either. I'm interested in Red Steel too- it'll be a good test to see how swords and guns work with the crazy controller they have designed for this thing.

And, of course, I have always been a diehard Nintendo advocate- I went out of my way to get an NES and the first FF just to see what it was like- so I'll support the company in battling Microsoft and Sony for a field that they made famous.

the bad thing about nes is that i cant save....maybe just the games i have, but pasing mario(the original) on one try is fuking hard.....i hope i can save on the Wii...but ill probably get a job if I buy it, so it wont be any time soon....

The Wii is wasnt gonna be on list list of consoles to buy (along with the PS3, with all the delays they deserve to go out of business!)But after i heard what microsofts gonna be doing to computer when they reasles vista, im buying one to fight the machine! long live the Wii!

The only thing that really sounds good about it to me is the NES and SNES games, and I can just download roms/emulators when I feel like playing them.

Well, whenever a new generation of consoles come out, I like to own 2 of them. (PS1 and 64 w/o the dreamcast. Xbox and PS2 w/o GC) So, with the Wii being as cheap as it is compared to the PS3, I will probably buy this.
Also just the small features get me.
