ok first of all im going to come out and say i dont know squat about computers lol. I love them to death but i dont know sh*t about it when it comes to gettting stuff to work. Now with that out in the open here is my dilemma.

I recenetly found an OLD SCHOOL game i used to play back in the day when i was in high school. It is called Shadow Warrior (japanese rip off of Duke Nukem). Anyways anyone who is familiar with it knows its from back in the MS-DOS days. Here is my question. As i am setting up the Sound FX and Music parts of the setup. The damn sound fx test was poorly tryin to get the noise out. but it seriously sounds like a banshee screaming. When i load the game with those sound fx the game lags horribly in single player. Im hoping you computer gurus can help me out. PLEASE HELP!!

What are the options for sound?? List ALL the setup options if you can and ill see what I can do.

Either that or I'll sell you my old DXII 50mhz setup complete with Windows 3.11 for cheap. :20:

Shadow Warrior? Is that the one where you're a ninja and throw those stars and slice sh*t up with a katana? I remember that game, it f*cking rocked
But, as to your situation with running it on your comp... you're lucky it even loads up. I d/l'd this other game that uses the same engine, called Blood (sure alot of you've played it). I have the same issues you do, and I've tried everything. Dosbox doesn't have any effect on games that use the Duke 3D engine for some reason. It works for some games though.
The whole problem is the compability issues Win XP has with older DOS programs. And of course, that the game thinks your sound card is sh*t, cause it's not a soundblaster 16 :1:

Nonono I've never played Ninja Gaiden. There is only one ninja Duke3D game, so I'm thinking about the right one.

haha sweet Frag you do remember it!! Man blood was the sh*t too, where you would pick up peoples hearts and stuff. Ah the good old school games. Anyways looks pretty grim then, im prolly going to go buy a crap laptop from someone i know and just install it on that lol. But hopefully Shlonk will be back with some other possible alternatives. :)

the easiest way to get it to work w/o problems is to install it on a comp running win 98 or 95, I actually have a P1 133mhz with win95 that I can run those old games on. 'cept that comp is in Sweden... :>.<:
I guess I'll try to download the newer DOSBox and see if it works now.

edit: yeah It will run the game now with no lag in the sound (v 0.65) but when I load it up the game doesn't respond to any keys. It's worth a try for you though Glacius.
