The best ATI card for AGP is the X800 XT Platinum Edition... they are pretty cheap actually, but may be hard to find.

I'm not sure what the best AGP Nvidia card is.... maybe the 6800? Anyways, you won't have to spend $400 for either of them. And since upgrading to PCI-E will cost you a new mobo and proc, spend the $100 or whatever and get an x800 XT PE.

like monster said they are hard to find,

here is one that is somewhat comprable. Ati 1600pro. not quite as good but its under 150 and can hang with the big dogs (for the most part) I have one and have enjoyed it and had absolutly no problems with it. once i found the right f*cking drivers

if you do buy one of the ones fluke found don't buy the saphire ones the cause they suck. and just about all the rest are going to be used. but then again some of the refurb ones are good, if you get them from say newegg, with a warranty.

i thought about all of this and just went with a new 1600pro. my reason being. I want to upgrade mobo and pcu to Pcie and i didn't want to spend a sh*t ton of money on a nice vid card which wouldn't work when i upgraded, not to mention its getting harder to find nice cid cards for agp.

but its up too you

They make x850XT PE In agp. Those are better than the above. Sapphire cards are the good ones....... Ive heard bad things about the powercolor ones although they all use the same exact components for the most part.

The Nvidia 7600GT comes in AGP flavor. They also have the 7600GS in AGP as well. (Theres a 7800GS AGP as well, but they are expensive and not really worth it) Those are pretty nice cards and will def. do 100% better than your damn Via onboard graphics. Either of those should run you about $150, and thats prob the best way to go without upgrading your entire PC. As far as ram goes, pick up a 1gb stick of DDR 400. Cheap is OK, Kingston or Corsair I like.

AGP 512mb x1650PRO

Nice card. If you cant find a x850, thats def the card to get. 128-bit isnt so bad, and remember nameless has Via onboard graphics right now, so anything will help really.

Sell your current system and build a cheap Ahtlon 64 939 system ... with pci-e ... forget agp .... but if you have to stick with agp... get a x800,x850 on ebay..... should spend around 130$ and get the best bang for your $
