I'm not sure what the best AGP Nvidia card is.... maybe the 6800? Anyways, you won't have to spend $400 for either of them. And since upgrading to PCI-E will cost you a new mobo and proc, spend the $100 or whatever and get an x800 XT PE.

i thought about all of this and just went with a new 1600pro. my reason being. I want to upgrade mobo and pcu to Pcie and i didn't want to spend a sh*t ton of money on a nice vid card which wouldn't work when i upgraded, not to mention its getting harder to find nice cid cards for agp.
but its up too you

The best ATI card for AGP is the X800 XT Platinum Edition... they are pretty cheap actually, but may be hard to find.

They make x850XT PE In agp. Those are better than the above. Sapphire cards are the good ones....... Ive heard bad things about the powercolor ones although they all use the same exact components for the most part.

Nice card. If you cant find a x850, thats def the card to get. 128-bit isnt so bad, and remember nameless has Via onboard graphics right now, so anything will help really.
