So, I'm realizing that once I get back to school I need to RMA my POS video card. Since I won't have a gaming comp ANYWAY, should I sell off my opty and mobo (and ram) and go core2? Was thinking an evga 680i or a gigabyte ds3, a E6300 or E6400 and finding something or another for ram... am I just going to hate myself? Is this the worst idea ever?
Clearly I just hate myself build

anyone have any experience with core2 mobos? I was going to get a 680i but they've been having some random problems (either are f*cking amazing or crash constantly), and they're a little pricey... I can get a P5NSLI for ~65.. maybe I'll just get that. not sure if it'll be shooting myself in the foot for OCing..
*edit* hmm, DS3's are selling for ~110 used... also an option still

yeah, so I've noticed. :D I troll Hardforum and extremeoverclocking so I'm not completely out of it. Just thought I'd see what experiences ya'll had, too. :D
I haven't had an intel proc in my desktop since my Pentium 200 with MMX. I figure why not try both sides.. Even though I <3 my opteron, I would love to get these 90-100% OCs that they're getting with C2Ds...
