The thermal paste is used to glue the motherboard to the case. Sorry, just kidding :perk:

I know! Here's the other build preperations I have to do:

-Put the CPU in the microwave
-Clean the thermal paste off of the heatsink by licking it then putting it in the dishwasher
-Stick a magnet on the harddrive
-Rip the fan off of the video card and put it in the cd drive
-Pour a bottle of Lysol inside the case

Silly me! You see, I'm building tomorrow when I get the case delivered so then not only can I shower/have hawt buttsecks with my PSU, but I can:

-throw my monitor down the stairs to make the picture better
-Let my dog chew on the RAM, then put it in the food disposal
-Bury the mouse, keyboard, headset, and gamepad in the ground inside a time capsule
-Burn the boxes and manuals for warmth
-Cut up all of the wires and use them as confetti at the next birthday party I attend

But seriously you've never assembled a computer? I hope you've at least installed windows. Just make sure that you don't use a 6 inch thermal grease blob and that your CPU fan is actually making contact. I've had so many customers say "I can do it myself" then we get it in the shop the week after "whys the CPU black?!?!" Just as a precaution I would check your PC health status in your BIOS first thing. Not trying to be offensive, I just don't want to see another AMD die.

Chris you can read all the guides you want, look at a million pictures, but you don't know what your CPU wants, until you get sexual with it man, smell it, become one with it, then when the time is right, spread your silver.

Yea Janton is a little drunk.

How am I misleading him? I think he did a great job, aside from the x1800gto, his machine will fly to his standards.

What's wrong with the x1800GTO? Shader Model 3. Simultaneous HDR/FSAA ability. 256-bit GDDR3 memory.

But yeah the RAM is Kingston 1GB (2x512mb) PC3200 DDR RAM.

O, ok you got some pretty good RAM. I thought you were going to say Geil DDR133 or something hehe. The problem with the x1800gto is the 500/1000, not a super speedy clock in my opinion. If I was you, I would have saved up 20 dollars more and grabbed something a little better like an x1900gt. And no offense, but bragging about a card because it has SM 3.0, man, every card AFTER the X series has SM 3.0.

Oh No! TYPO!

Didn't I say after X? Wait no I said since, damn your right. But you know what I mean. I think I know when SM3 was applied :tired:

ANYWAYS, post some pictures of this thing built!
