ok, so I took alot of xmas pics with my camera, and some relatives want to post them on their own home pages and what not, but, I dont know how to resize the image, my camera is only 4.1 MP, but using that on full makes the images far too large, but its great for printing them out at CVS because it automatically resizes to what you want, i just whould like to know how whould I do this myself.
I have tried to use mspaint(big mistake) just to reduce the file size by changing the file format(and that doesnt work, only f*cks up the color).any help whould be greatly appreciated.
but just incase I made this confusing, I want to know how to reduce the file size/reduce the image without exactly reducing the overall quality to the point it looks sh*tty. thanks all.

with photoshop reduce the number of pixel on each side by a perfect dividing number, or w/e the f*ck its called.....but for example 1600x1200 img can be change to 800x600 or 400x300 or 1200x900 without much quality loss in the picture.....at least i hope it works like that

Photoshop.
EDIT: What he says, all you have to do is tick the 'Constrain Proportions' box in the Image Resize tool. Then enter in something in the height box and the width box will change accordingly, and vice versa.

For MS Paint, open up your doc., CTRL + W, and do around 50% for both. Half it in size.

With photoshop, you can either decrease to a certain pixel size or by a percentage. I usually take my pictures down to 800x600. Most people I know are running either 1024x768 or 1280x1024 resolution, so 800x600 is a good one to view pictures at.
