Look at how bad the reviews are on that RAM. If its not around four stars I don't even look at it. All of those people can't be jackasses.
And the ds3 just has better quality capacitors than the s3.

- Where'd you get that at? If that one has better hardware, then you're right, stick with the one you picked out. The only difference I saw between the two was the LAN chipset. And the ds3 just has better quality capacitors than the s3.

For your video card, the 8800GTS is a much better price/performance: http://www.zipzoomfl...ductCode=322839 $380 with free shipping (and after a $30 MIR). Better card, better warranty, nVidia, and lower price

For another $50 you can upgrade to the 150gb raptor as opposed to the 74gb...

- It is DX10, but still should have support for DX9, right? I don't think you are required to run DX10 on that card, in fact, I didn't think DX10 was out until Vista? And I'm reluctant to go DX10 so soon with the first card on the market.
Edit: read this about the 8800GTS DX9/DX10...
lolWait this guy is going Conroe too? I need some notes on who's building what and when.

- I wouldn't know... First thing I would do is run a search (i found this) > http://www.xtremesys...d.php?p=1919215Will that Zalman GPU cooler be compatible with the 8800 gts?
specifically "The VF900 won't fit it and the GTS cooler is better, regardless."
I couldn't really find too much in terms of cooling the 8800gts, maybe someone here who has one or is much more familiar can help you out.

Janton, give us your expert advice on how memory timings are affected with Conroes. The number people/research I have done, has led me to believe that timings aren't nearly as meaningful as they were with AMD (but this was when they first came out, i'm sure there is more info about it around now). Maybe you can share your knowledge on it?

ill explain. lower timings equal better overclock ability. Can you argue that?
