You know before the invention of colored tv's and movies, there were films in shades of gray...so for the few of us that have seen such archaic peices of cinematography...

Whats your favorite Black and White movie?

Mine has to be...

Shichinin no samurai (Seven Samurai) made in 1954.

with a close second, the original Manchurian Candidate made in 1962.

Schindler's List prob. If you dont count that one because of the brief amount of color, then i guess it would be Night of the Living Dead

Citizen Kane.

Granted, the movie is dated as hell now. But the impact it had on the film industry makes it still enjoyable to watch.

Clerks ftw.

And most of American History X was in color, so it shouldn't really.

Umm... I think I would go with Harvey even though it's not the type of movie any of you probably watch.

I would probably have to say Det Sjunde Inseglet (The Seventh Seal) by Ingmar Bergman. Big piece of movie history right there, and so is Citizen Kane, good choise Justin

Another really outstanding b&w is Psycho, along with most of Hitchcock's early movies (Rebecca, The Rope, Strangers on a Train, Rear Window, Vertigo, North by NorthWest, The Birds!!).
I love Hitchcock movies hehe

I'm glad someone brought up Hitchcock. Any of his are my pick.
