you car read the article here. in short, it says they've developed a way, unlike nvidia's sli 7950gx2, to have four different cards running together and get real performance gains. not to mention that one card w/an r600 chip will blow the pants off the g80. holy sh*t.

I think one, maybe two, of these is going to be my new card when I build a new system.

Praise the lord! I really wanted to spend 2k on video cards! /end sarcasm

Of course it will be better than g80. It's months later. It'll be ~ the same as the 8900's. I hope they're about equal. I like it when fanboys can just pick their own brand and not actually be hurt by it. That way everyone is happy.
Also, that article has so little value in it... :(
Actual content from article: "ATI R600 will support quad-GPUs"
the rest is "4 GPUs?! That's a sh*t-ton of power! zomg framezorz will most likely probably be somewhat different than before maybe?"

Mmm...IMO nVidia is sh*t, not just their graphics cards but their network card and mobo drivers.

Soz I might get one of those cards soon.

just cause you didnt follow what people told you and you f*cked up your computer setup the first time around doesnt mean their drivers are sh*t.

No, their drivers are sh*t. Nobody ever said "Don't install the IDE drivers" and such. Plus 90% of people with BF2 lag have nForce4 mobos or use nForce drivers. The drivers are sh*t. Have you ever used the nVidia firewall? It's sh*t. sh*t sh*t sh*t sh*t sh*t.

nVidia sucks, always has and always will. I'm not trying to be a fanboy but facts are facts.

now one logical reason to hate nvidia is the rumor(since i dont know if its true) that their cards while inferior to ati's cards, they peform up to their level just because they have great drivers. Now im just confused. Which side to pick, oh the bandwagon is so tempting.

So nvidia is sh*t because there onboard drivers are sh*t? People still use onboard lan, sound, etc? Anything onboard pretty much equals sh*t. Thats all there is to it.

Spend the $30 dollars and buy a sound and lan card.

There really is no sense in arguing about which one is better. They both make decent cards. As of right now, if you spend the money on a top of the line card, you are getting a top of the line card. They will continue to trump each other. It just depends on who has the best card when I am looking to buy.

Just don't say a certain company sucks because of an onboard lan driver. LOL

I use on board lan and sound. You can buy mobos with gigabit ethernet cards and high end sound cards built into them. It's risky, because if something goes wrong, the mobo is f*cked, but it frees up PCI slots for other devices.

Generally onboard = sh*t. But as you said, there are exceptions.

Not sure how valid the article is but it shows a picture of the R600 and states that it's gonna consume 240w of power and be approximately 9" long.

Edit: Picture is of the OEM version not retail version.
