Since a lot of you guys know your sh*t I was wondering what you would recommend for a socket 939 mobo and a graphics card?
The budget will be around 800 - 1k

Does it have to be socket 939? With that budget you could easily upgrade to say an e6300 which smokes almost all 939s, plus they overclock insanely well.

Nah it doesn't have to be 939.
Okay then, what's the best setup i can get with a new mobo, cpu, and graphics card...for around 1k

Processor
E6600 $320
If you don't plan on Sli or crossfire in the near future then either the P5B from Asus $180
or the gigabyte Ds3 $135
are both good mobos.
and for your video card
If u had to pick right now I'd say 8800 gts which is around $390, but r600 is coming out shortly and I'm not sure how it will be priced and all that so just wait and see how that works out.
Also make sure your PSU can handle a high end video card.
Again these are just my suggestions.

Don't get a liquid cooled case. All prebuilt/external water cooling kits normally blow compared to a few Black Ice's and a DD TDX. With 1K you could upgrade to a nice Conroe PC, but I'd save up some more so you could get a real bad ass machine.
Hahaha forget it, I'll just keep what i have and use it for internet and storage, then I'll just buy another for gaming.
