Hey guys. I have an intel penitum d dual core proccessor and i didnt like the stock fan because it was too loud. So i got a Zalman 9500 or something like that and its a lot quieter but its running at highest rpm. On average my cpu is between 40-43 degrees celcius for normal computing needs. Is it safe to lower the rpm so it can be quieter at night? It came with a fan mate i just havent used it. So if anyone has any feedback of what a safe cpu temp range is it would help alot.
K thanks

If you lower the RPM while it's not under high stress you won't be causing it any major problems. Just remember to turn it back up when you start gaming or anything with a heavy workload.

That's pretty warm, but your not going to melt down with those temps. I would be ramping up the rpm if you are doing anything remotely intensive.
