Reformat your drive. Install Windows XP. Problem solved. I don't see why you feel the need to upgrade to Vista when it's just the opposite-you don't need to!

Nvidia drivers worked fine for me. About the only thing I had problems with were the drivers for my wireless usb adapter. My media center pc is wireless. The only other thing I dislike about vista is the fact that it use 400+ mb of memory just for windows.

Vista is a very nice OS , its not vista... its nvidias poor support for drivers. From what I read on boards, ATI's drivers actually perform decently... o well

Are you people basing you opinions on the beta build of vista or what? Or maybe making opinions on it when you haven't actually tried it. Maybe saying that it sucks because someone else says it sucks.

I have received both a vista home premium and a vista ultimate disc from work (official disks with official serials, not bootlegs). I have to say it is pretty nice not having to install drivers after a reinstall. The nvidia driver was the only one I had to manually install. Now that right there already makes it worth it for me. Also most of the reasons why people say it sucks, have either been worked out or are close to being worked out or have nothing to actually do with the os itself. From just messing around with vista, it seems like microsoft has tried to make everything a little less complicated for people. What f*cking sucks about that?

Edit: I am typing this on my media center pc. Which has vista on it. I am using firefox to access this website. I have also been playing games on it and doing sh*t that I would have done on a regular basis with windows xp. I have yet to find a program I needed that didn't work.

Dunno about XP, but the Vista NVIDIA drivers are good, and the fog thing is only in HL2 for me, not CSS or lost coast....
