Yeah so my computer finally sh*tted out on me, so yesterday i ordered my new computer
Mobo
Proc
Ram
PSU
HD
DVD Burner
FAN!
Video Card (update: ordered the card too, hell yes!)

Total price: $1,659.94

So until i get my video card, I'll be running on an MX4400 :weee:, since i dont have any PCI Express video cards lying around, only agp and a couple of regular PCI, so i'll have to use the MX4400 PCI, lol.... I'll post some pics up when i put it together... update: actually i ordered the card today! yay!

Nice computer, but using that MX440 is gonna suck. Then again that card only supports DirectX 7 so I'm sure you'll get over 300fps in the VST.

Sweet. I'm actually thinking about getting another 8800 after the price drop, but I don't know if it would fit in my case. :emo:

I almost just built that exact computer for a friend (same vid card, mobo, proc, dvd drive, HDD)
I went with a OCZ gamextreme 800w instead and Super Talent for RAM (cheaper for PSU with less ripple, and just a hair cheaper for RAM). Looks good. I dunno how Corsair is doing in the RAM market now although I've had wonderful experiences with them with DDR1. I'm against Thermaltake and refuse to believe they will ever put out a good product even as I have a bigtyphoon in my media box. :D Enjoy it!

glad you made this thread, im looking to make something similar in may, except with 4 gigs of ram, and 2 8800s, also i need a case that can cool the dual 8800s, which seems like it will be difficult. this gives me a good starting point @ what kind of mobo/psu/ram etc. i will get. post pics of the build process if you can!

Regarding the 8800, aren't there alot of questions regarding the high temperatures? I am considering purchasing one myself, but I'm not too sure afterall the precautionary things I've heard about the heat it produces.

Thermalright Ultra 120 is suppose to be the best air cooler on the market. And the 8800s don't run much hotter than most video cards.
