i recently found a new movie "store" and i would like to burn divx movies onto dvds (only for backup purposes ofcourse). How the hell do i do this? i know you cant just drag and drop that sh*t. Is it worth the effort? Thanks

If you want to "backup" DVDs it's easy just to use dvdshrink or something like that to make a direct copy of an actual dvd. Netflix works good for doing this with lots of movies quickly. If it's s mpeg or avi movie there is no reason you can't just drag and burn it onto a dvd, but you won't be able to play it on a dvd player obviously, only your pc.

How long has Divx been around? Cause suddenly I keep seeing it pop up everywhere.
