Roomate got a new Acer rig. Not too bad a deal X2 4400+, 2gb mem sata hdd 320gb, widescreen LCD, VISTA printer for like $650.
I plugged in the bitch and was surprised that there actually wasn't TOO much malware on the bitch. However: It decided to steal my IP from my gaming rig.
"Windows has detected an IP conflict with another device on the network." WTF??? Fuckin thing STOLE my IP.
Since the IP address was assigned using DHCP I don't know how the fuck it managed to steal my fucking IP. Since I have my computer specifically configured to use a static from my router for port-forwarding amongst other things this proved to be a real pain in the ass. I had to change my rig back to DHCP and release the IP in order to get my roomates Vista box a valid IP without a "conflict."
I am sure that there might have been some other way to fix this while still keeping my static configured but wtf??
Not to mention Vista will only allow you to Uninstall one thing at once.......
Vista sucks.
Vista FTW!!
