It's idiots like you that ruin the IT industry, always thinking that one thing will protect you... but ya know what? Like I've said before, a Router is only good for blocking incoming connections, but if a trojan / keylogger is on your PC, your data is STILL leaving your pc. :)Just turn off windows firewall even if you don't have another software firewall... it's useless and just gets in the way. Maybe i'll try outpost though, i am just relying on the router's built in firewall.
Theres a free version...just downloaded outpost and its working pretty cool...has actual settings that dont blow assholes too
now about extending that 30 day trial...hmmm

I only said I was relying on the router's built in firewall, but I didn't claim it was good enough. If you say it is really that important to have then I might try outpost. So far I've counted on preventative measures to keep keyloggers and trojans off in the first place. I don't profess to know a lot about IT security and i always appreciate input by knowledgeable people. One thing though... how am I contributing to ruining the IT field? I just started studying computer sciences after being a political science major and deciding I wanted to switch. I'm not an IT professional in any sense although I figure I'm knowledgeable enough with computers to be able to learn what I need to know. Assuming I am just a random shnook needing IT help, wouldn't that be good for the industry? Just one more dumb ass customer paying YOU to setup/fix my sh*t.
