I'm thinking about buying a 1080p T.V. I wanted to know if you guys can give me some hints and tips. I'm planning on mounting the tv on my wall, so rear-projection T.V's are out of the question. I'm thinking about getting either a plasma or LCD. I know that plasma T.V's are a bit cheaper, but I've heard that they suffer burn out problems, especially with gaming. So it seems that I'm leaning toward an LCD. The problem is I don't know what company is reasonable. I found this, but I've heard that Vizio's support isn't helpful at all.

I have a 25" Sceptre and I love it.

There's a 42" one too which is pretty cheap if you want to save some cash. There tech support is good too, pretty fast responding.

Well a plasma is like a light bulb and can burn out, but the plasma has a darker, sharper black since it uses lack of any light rather then creating black as a color. This is said to create a sharper picture.

These are the things that I have heard about the differences between the two types.

Fsk yeah. Same TV (as far as I know) that I have. Excellent.

I'd recommend LCD, simply because of the burn-in issues. It might not happen, but if it does, you're out one HDTV. I'd personally rather not take that risk.

Yeah, sceptre and vizio seem appealing to me. But, I don't know if its worth the money to go for something like the Aquos even though it's hot. I'm looking for reliability, I want something that would last me a couple of years.

I personally wouldnt buy either of those two. IMHO either get an Aquos or a Sony Bravia XBR. There is some new Sony out that is supposedly amazing, the name slips my mind right now though.

I've got the Sony XBR2, mine's not 1080p, but the picture is absolutely amazing. I was looking at it in a row of TVs in a store and it just stood out so much more than any of the other ones.

Note to self: If I somehow end up selling a TV to justin, just bump up the brightness on the shittiest TV and mark up the price.

I didn't buy it at the store, they wanted too much for it. But it wasn't a jacked up brightness, they were all pretty even. The picture was so much better than any other TV there.
