My friend preordered one by mail, then he was sick today so he went to a store and picked up a copy and played it all day and then the one he ordered came in the mail so now he has two. I wonder what poor kid is crying because he doesn't have halo 3 because of my friend.

f*ck all you haters, I've played the series since the beginning and liked them all (albeit Halo 2 was severely n00bified). The campaign's pretty interesting, actually has good replay value with finding the skulls and getting the 15k points on each level, the 4 player Co-Op is really fun, and the online multiplayer is amazing. The armor customization is sweet, too, I just unlocked the old school Mark V helmet, it looks pretty badass.

You've got it all right my friend.

Now if they release a TS4 with online capabilities.. That's when the Console FPS will be perfected.

Halo is interesting I'm not going to lie, but it's way too bulky and slow. It's lagging behind other FPS's that had blazed the trail of awesome. While it's busy updating the graphics and adding a few guns or something "gnarly" like Dual-Wielding (LOL), Other games are improving everything.
The thing is, with so many preorders, it doesn't even matter if the game kicks booty, or if it totally blows. They're already made bajillions.
Mountain Dew, XBox 360's, Laptops.. w/e. They've made their money.

I'm not defending halo and saying it's inovative by any means, but what games are and why? The whole genre is stuck in a rut. Occasionally you at least get a game with an awesome setting like Bioshock, but then they forget gameplay and difficulty scaling (and storywriting, but that's for another time). I just feel that FPSs are limited. Theyall just seem to be turning into grungy physics engines with guns.. I can't remember the last time I saw AI that was at all non-predictable or anything.. I guess they're just becoming vanilla..

*edit* mostly I just want some game recs so I can play this new wave of innovative FPSs

On a side note, I just collected all the skulls and got the Hayabusa spartan armor. Its pretty badass. Next thing is to complete the last 2 levels I need on Legendary (not the last 2 levels in the game btw, its 2 levels about halfway through it that I need) and then start to go through it again with campaign scoring on to get 15k in each level. Then after that it will be finding all the terminals, and then playing online constantly. Online play in this one, IMO, is incredibly fun. I love the fact that you can save matches to watch later. Those, "OMG that was amazing!" once in a lifetime sort of gaming moments can now be viewed over and over again.

the 15k is pretty easy on most levels. just play on legendary with the catch this skull and the saving throw skull enabled (I foudn those were fun. :D). time pretty much no longer matters since you're at a 7x multi already.

Sweet. I'm also going to snag all the terminals on my way through the metascoring run. Try to kill 2 birds with one stone.
